Willie Macc, actor (USA), 03/09/2009

Willie Macc (born Willie McMiller, August 1984) is best know as the funny man from the hit BET reality TV-show 'College Hill Virgin Islands' (2007). He has become one of the stars to make the transition from reality TV to that of a working actor in Hollywood. Once he relocated back to Los Angeles from the Virgin Islands, he continued his small screen run by appearing on multiple episodes of 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation', as well as 'Journeyman', '106 & Park' and 'Take the Cake'. He has also appeared in several national and regional commercials.

Willie Macc's big screen break came with his cameo appearance in the 2008 comedy spoof "Meet the Spartans". There were 'House Arrest', 'The Greatest Song', 'Sympathy for Delicious', 'Chicago Pulaski Jones' among his next films. Both an actor and comedian, Willie continues to hone his comic skills by performing stand-up comedy routines in and around Los Angeles for both teen and adult audiences.

When you cried last time and, if no secret, for what reason?

The last time I cried was July 30th. I was supposed to go and do my stand-up at a room. I invited some friends and some people were there to watch me. They told me I was first, then someone else went up first, not me. I asked about it. The lady said: "Sorry, you will go up later, one moment". Then one person went on after another and I never went up.

I left and was so mad because I felt I was done so dirty. I cried on my girl's shoulder because sometimes Hollywood can just be so overwhelming and I felt that Hollywood is too hard and I was tired of people screwing me over. I know how Hollywood is, but sometimes it just gets to me and I have a breakdown moment. I'm so emotionally involved in my craft, it just gets to me sometimes.

There are some events during our life, when it seems as there is no way out. That could be tragic circumstances or such assessment of them. At that time, what's the thing to do?

When events happen in my life and I feel that there is no way out, I call my mom and dad. They preach to me because I'm a Pastor's Kid and they uplift me. They tell me to hold on not only for me, but because my little brother and my son look up to me, they look at me to make it. Then after that my mom tells me not to give up, because I still owe her an Escalade truck, so that helps and I get re-motivated.

Could you please choose any event of last days, weeks or months, that has distressed you? It can be any happening on a local or international scale. How could you comment on it?

Micheal Jackson death threw me off. It made me realize how short life is and death can come at anytime. It didn't really distress me but it threw me off. It's like wow... just yesterday he was ok and up and moving, and the next he's dead.

They say death waits for no one and you can't pay to cheat it. Although it saddened me, it made me realize that I need to step up my game and really work at my craft, because I don't know how long I have, so I need to do as much as I can now.

There's always a new danger watching for humanity in its way, always a new temptation we're ready succumb to. What's the danger of our days? And what's the way to avoid this trap?

Desperation, nowadays since jobs and money are scarce, people are doing whatever for money, killing themselves and putting money on a higher level. Yes, money "makes the world go around" and we need it to survive. But one should never get too desperate - to the point where morals and God leave the picture.

One way to avoid this is to be true to yourself. Many talk about selling their souls, many talk about having sex with a person for it. And though that will get you so far, would you really be happy, is that the way you want to be known for? If money is that big of an issue and you feel there's no other way work at McDonald's, work at a telemarketing gig. Prayer will get you further, God will never put you in a predicament that you can't handle. It might be tough but the storm don't last always.

What are the main obstructions to apply humanities principles at our today's life? Could they be solved?

Self Pride is an obstruction. Many people are so caught up in themselves, that they don't look at how they could help other people or in many cases care. You can come up to some people and tell them your problems and they get mad at you like "I'm going through stuff too" and although they can help you out. They won't because you are not important.

It can be solved by just caring. Someone's life may be in your hands and you can help them, but sometimes we can be so caught up in ourselves that we can tell that person: "Not right now". And when you finally get back to them, they are gone.
