Natalie Reid, model (USA), 12/06/2009

Natalie Reid was born in Canada. After visiting New York to model, and shooting with several famous photographers who told her she photographed like none other then Paris Hilton, she decided to go into the entertainment industry and has appeared on many tv shows, magazines and gained international recognition.

When you cried last time and, if no secret, for what reason?

Probably last week... I'm not sure why since I cry a lot. Whenever emotions over come me. It is for different reasons. I'm extremely sensitive to people & circumstances. Being very in touch with my emotional state whether it's ultimate bliss, anger, etc... Mostly I cry when I have been hurt or let down by someone, since I wear my heart on my sleeve. Life can be painful in this way because I'm so raw at times.

At the same time this makes me able to experience massive highs of life where I can feel as though I am floating on a cloud. As an artist it is important to be able to express how you feel even if it isn't happiness.

There are some events during our life, when it seems as there is no way out. That could be tragic circumstances or such assessment of them. At that time, what's the thing to do?

It is a difficult when we feel completely hopeless, but time heels most wounds & difficulties. The most important thing to do is to realize there is always a way out & a better path, so therefore we must keep going to keep on living.

Emotional states are temporary so if one day your world has crashed know that tomorrow you have the power to change that. Keeping our soul fed & spirit alive, this is the point of living.

Could you please choose any event of last days, weeks or months, that has distressed you? It can be any happening on a local or international scale. How could you comment on it?

Breaking up with someone that I loved with my whole heart. That was so painful & I experienced a deep loss even though I knew that the relationship was wrong in so many ways.

But I believe that in life you have to keep your heart open to new opportunities & encounters with people & try not to be closed off even if you were hurt in the past.

There's always a new danger watching for humanity in its way, always a new temptation we're ready succumb to. What's the danger of our days? And what's the way to avoid this trap?

There are a lot of dangers in society today. The internet & new technology can be overwhelming & time consuming. I think that we are also bombarded by the media with more information than we can handle processing. Our attention spans have become much shorter due to an overwhelming demand in ever changing information we are fed with.

One has to put their priorities first, since today we have so many choices that we never had in the past which is extremely rewarding but can also be one's downfall. Filtering what we allow in our lives is challenging, but I think we can find more meaning in our life if we do this.

What are the main obstructions to apply humanities principles at our today's life? Could they be solved?

The fact that cultures are being molded together from technology, internet & media. With advancement of all three, it is happening faster & faster. I think that it is important to maintain our differences in beliefs & the way we live our lives, because this is what makes individuals unique in nature.

Different societies have contributed to art, film, music, foods & beverages & history. We can learn from one another, but if we are influenced generally by similar things then we are aren't going to be contributing, cultivating & creating amazing work.
