Robert Thaler, actor (USA), 01/12/2009

Robert Thaler is an American actor known internationally by his character on the daytime TV soap opera 'Santa Barbara'. He played Michael 'Pearl' Bradford in 140 episodes from 1985 to 1988. Robert also made appearances on various television series in the 1980s, such as 'The Renegades', 'Remington Steele', 'V', 'Hill Street Blues', 'Hardcastle and McCormick' and 'T.J. Hooker'.

When you cried last time and, if no secret, for what reason?

I last cried just a few days ago while out hiking with a woman I have been seeing on occasion. I had become very concerned with her financial and life situation and was wondering aloud how it was that she would support herself and survive in the midst of this economic downturn.

This caused me to think about our relationship and the essential nature of all relationships: that they are perishable and temporary and so very fragile. Suddenly I noticed that leaves that had been green on this hike just weeks ago were now turning red, shriveling and falling to the ground. The light had become low and soft in the sky, the wind began whistling thru the high pines on the nearby hill and once again I was reminded that nothing is permanent, nothing sustains, all moves in cycles of birth and death and all perceived 'things' surrender to these cycles.

Then of course I thought about my Mother who dissappeared from my life when I was 13 and about my Father who is now 10 years deceased and just a memory. The two 'things' one beleives as a child to be the most rock-solid i.e. my parents, are now long since gone and dematerialized into space and time. And so I wept and could not talk for a time and was a better human being for it after the wave of emotion and sorrow had passed.

There are some events during our life, when it seems as there is no way out. That could be tragic circumstances or such assessment of them. At that time, what's the thing to do?

When faced with something obvious, odious and irrefutable the only thing to do is breath thru it consciously and sometimes rapidly but as deeply as possible. People say there are lessons found in relation to monsters and I would reluctantly agree. Embracing or at least acknowledging fear is of vital importance. Breathing deeply while one faces their darkest fear or failure is very helpful. Then allowing things to transpire as they may.

As a performer I always had stage fright and was scared of falling on my face. Always and without exception. I often think I became an actor to simply challenge that fear and get on with it. The very first scene I ever did on 'Santa Barbara' way back when I was so nervous and felt so vulnerable before camera that just before my entrance I urinated in my pants. Did the whole scene in wet trousers. Sometimes on stage before an opening of a play I would go into the bathroom and throw up. But in the end, acting was good to me and good for me even though it was never easy or 'fun'. That's just not who I was.

Could you please choose any event of last days, weeks or months, that has distressed you? It can be any happening on a local or international scale. How could you comment on it?

What most distresses me is the ongoing destruction and dismantling of America by renegade and corrupt banksters on Wall Street. They are stealing openly and right out in public and no one is doing anything about it because these banksters own the lawmakers and legislators in Congress. It is very, very similar to what happened in Russia after its collapse when the oligarchs came in and stole all of the commonwealth of the country. It is a last phase in the American decline and within 5 years no one will want to live here anymore, but the banksters will have left long since and taken up residence in other lands far away, taking their booty with them. 1% of this collapsing Empire now own over 90% of its remaining wealth and we have corporate communism on Wall Street with bankrupt companies being propped up by taxpayers. To put faces on this many will remember in history the names of the criminals who looted or lead America to ruin: Alan Greenspan, Robert Rubin, Larry Summers, Tim Geithner, Goldman Sachs, Citicorp, Ben Bernanke, Hank Paulsen are just a few of the more recognizable criminals with enormous influence and power.

There's always a new danger watching for humanity in its way, always a new temptation we're ready succumb to. What's the danger of our days? And what's the way to avoid this trap?

The approaching danger in America is the sure destruction of the American Dollar. People can guard against this by getting all of their wealth out of dollar denominated assets and American banks and into Gold, Silver and other foreign currencies.

What are the main obstructions to apply humanities principles at our today's life? Could they be solved?

The main obstacles to true humanism within our species are ignorance, hatred and greed. Religion does no one much good until it is understood well that empathy is the basis for true morality. Without empathy morality becomes a tool of fraudulent leaders who then use it to create systems of rules that then are impossible to follow, leading to guilt, humiliation and failure.

Greed must be acknowledged at all times both on a personal and a national level. The banking system must be completely nationalized and the bankster crooks who created this runaway fractional reserve system of theft and corruption must be tried and jailed and all of their property should be placed into receivership to be given to the public commonwealth. National currencies must be reset to the Gold standard and the use of trickery, fraud and fractional reserve, highly leveraged banking and the charging of usurious interest to the public must be made criminal and recognized as treasonous and punishable by prison. With the nationalization of banks, credit will be lent at reasonable and fixed interest to those who qualify and credit will become in fact part of the public commonwealth and not a privilege and tool of the private cartel which now calls itself the Federal Reserve.

As a result of this hundreds of thousands of new college students will flood back into the true sciences and humanities and cease with the seeking of outrageous riches in the banking sector. Bribing our countries finest minds to work on Wall Street where they are used to devise ever more sophisticated financial 'vehicles' of mass destruction is a losing trend which began 25 years ago and really must end or what will become of the really important and socially constructive sciences. Without manpower they will wither and die.

There is so much more that needs to be done. The exploitation of both the manipulative and reptilian zones of the brain has reached an extreme level. It is long since time that methods be championed and broadly encouraged that research and cultivate the development of mans' right-brained innate genius. This can start with teaching meditation and biofeedback games to small children and engendering their application throughout life. Soon enough people in the future will be communicating telepathically via thought transmission. Its time we began to explore the vast possibilities of the human brain itself and its profound capacity for and comfort with the notion of Spirit. We are all in fact One. We just have not realized this yet. Realization is key. How this is done is an open playing field of endless opportunity.

I have no doubt that if enough people begin this exploration and turn to serious pursuits like meditation and self-awareness that mankind can survive this period of decadence, violence and preoccupation with the smaller ego-self that so dominates the landscape today. Perhaps then too, the paradigm of victims and predators can finally dissolve, the small percentage of sociopaths who wield such enormous power in our political and economic societies can be outed and neutered and men can evolve to being self-responsible, family-responsible and community responsible lovers of truth, beauty and compassion.

With many blessings to all and gratitude for this opportunity to scribble down some thoughts, Robert.
